Christopher Sebastian Parker, PhD

While being an accomplished professor and published author of Political Science at the University of Washington, Christopher Sebastian Parker needed a greater platform for his valuable work to exist. Additionally, he was in need of a logo, web design, and photographic imagery — with a plan to launch prior to the presidential election of 2020.

The solution? To create a visual identity representing Christopher in a timeless, yet modern way.

.

Classic black attire with white background, accompanied by a brown leather chair, was chosen to represent Christopher’s academic background. A chair, too — inviting one to sit and converse about difficult but critical subject matters. Christopher’s positions were mindfully chosen to appear ready to engage.

Logo.

Christopher wished for a logo that held personal meaning for him — one that could also be used as a signature, incorporating all of his initials: C.S.P.

Wireframe.

After photography and logo design were complete, it was time to wireframe Christopher’s website.

Negative space drawing the focus onto Christopher and his works was the primary intent; also allowing space to provoke thought. Body copy lived in a disappearing scroll to maintain the integrity of the aforementioned space. Small caps were the primary type aesthetic for emphatic purpose.

Upon completion, the wireframe was then handed off to developer Arlene Tan and publicist Mary Moreno.
